This picture shows two ICE engines and one electric motor comparing equivalent horsepower. This fact alone is the root cause of why things are going to change.
Hydrogen powered vehicles have had a difficult time competing against ICE and EV cars. The technology is being pushed by big oil (most hydrogen is made from fossil base sources). There are too many issues for me to list here but Ben Sullens gives the definitive review.
The one thing that has a high probability of making Tesla stock bump up is beating wall streets delivery expectations. ...and it is usually a bump. Up and then back down.
If you've been following Tesla stock, you've seen it going up steadily for the last month.
It broke $260/share as of this post. See graph below.
There is a strong consensus amongst market mavens that it will get close to $300/share before the 10/10 event due to FOMO.
The law of round numbers when trading... is an inherent part of human nature. We like to round numbers and will act upon them if given the opportunity. This means a majority of traders will set their sell price at $300. (Google the phrase to get a more complete definition and understanding).
This situation will have a big affect on the stock price:
1. This puts downward pressure on the price called resistance. It will look like the stock will shoot up to $289 and start to stall as it hits the sell price for these traders.
2. If you set your sell price at $300/share, your trade will be delayed or just not executed because it will never get to your target price.
You can take advantage of this by setting your sell price just below $300. You might miss out on a few cents a share but it will pay off when your shares actually sell.
I'm selling a few of my (long term) stocks with a target price of $298.80.

A decade ago, China made two bold statements about the future. The first was to dominate the solar panel industry, which they have successfully achieved. The second was to take over the electric car market, which they have accomplished globally except in the United States. The only obstacle preventing their complete dominance is the substantial tariffs imposed on them by the US government.
At the time, our car industry listened but dismissed these statements and continues to ignore the reality of the situation. If not for the tariffs, our car industry would be on the verge of collapse within a few short years.
China's BYD car manufacturer is the fastest growing auto company in the world and sees no sign of slowing down. They don't sell in the US yet but are making plans to set up sales in Mexico and Canada. ...it's just a matter of time.
BYD is not encumbered with unions and has generous subsidies from their government. They also make a product that is wholly supported by the Chinese government and people. This is in stark contrast to how Tesla, and EVs in general, are seen by our government.
Palantir is one of the stocks I bought about 8 months ago. It is central to AI future and is gaining a lot of government and public contracts. I suggest you put this stock on your watch list. Here is a short update.

The new Tesla Model 3 rear wheel long range is tested by Bjorn Nyland. Bjorn is an EV expert with a lot of experience testing EVs in Norway. He is very thorough and scientific about his test methods. Watch Bjorn's full review.
FYI. Colorado has the best deals in the country to buy EVs. For this car, you get $12,850 off the price in tax incentives. This comes out to about $31,280 purchase price for this car. A comparable car, the Toyota Camry XSE Hybrid is $34,600. Remember this when people say EVs are so much more expensive than gas cars.
